Jarrow Citicoline
Citicoline (CDP Choline, Cognizin), 250 mg x 60 capsules
Participates in Synthesis of Phosphatidylcholine from Choline in Cell Membranes
Jarrow Formulas Citicoline contains citicoline from the Cognizin complex. Citcoline is an intermediate involved in the producttion of phosphatidylcholine from choline, which is a biochemical process taking place in cell membranes. Phosphatidylcholine is a key component of biological membranes. Citicoline is naturally occuring primarily in organ cells. After use, citicoline (cytidine 5′-diphosphocholine) is hydrolyzed into choline and cytidine in the intestine. As soon as these cross the blood-brain barrier, they again form citicoline.
